Google and Facebook said removing objectionable content

Google, Facebook on Monday, Feb 6 announced that they have removed few pages from their sites. The Delhi High Court has ordered 21 companies, which have already been asked to develop a mechanism to block objectionable material in India
Facebook India submitted a compliance report to the court Monday, but it also joined Yahoo and Microsoft in questioning its inclusion in the case, saying no specific complaints had been presented against them.
Google India's counsel Neeraj Kishan Kaul argued before the Court that the complainant Vinay Rai has failed find out the bloggers or users who are posting such images and 'instead blaming the landlord for what a tenant does'.
Facebook too had noted that it already has rules of blocking and removing content, whenever specific matters are brought to its notice. Both websites are challenging a trial court's order to prosecute them.
